I’m a seasoned career business analyst, applications developer, and project management professional with 25 years of progressive experience as both an employee and independent consultant. Starting as an industry accountant in financial reporting, I quickly developed a propensity for systems, acumen for automation and became the team’s Excel “goto” resource. After a few years of advancing in hybrid accounting/system administration roles, I yearned to fortify my IT skills and did so by becoming a technical developer for financial system implementations.
This pivotal move built synergy between my established functional and growing IT prowess. As a technical developer who understood the business processes, I solidified a techno-functional knowledge foundation in business process analysis/re-engineering, relational database design, application configuration, and custom solution development.
After a few years, I wanted to broaden my contribution and deepen my proficiencies and I accomplished this by becoming an ERP consultant adding extensive implementation, development, and customer experience to my hybrid toolset. For years across multiple industries, I gained invaluable hands-on experience in business process analysis, technical application development, practical project management, and face-to-face customer engagement/training. Working with customers and stakeholders at all organizational levels, I became an expert in analyzing/crafting solutions for simple and complex business challenges, organizing/leading implementation teams, and effectively codifying/presenting project information to small and large audiences.
Over my career, I’ve moved between employee and consulting roles providing a unique dual-sided perspective. I understand what it’s like to be an employee who wants to maximize their contribution and advance, as well as, a consultant who must be adept at engendering customer value using tools and experience.
Today as an independent consultant, I continue to competently use a variety of tools to be effective and promote customer value. Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Access are my favorites to make short work of straight-forward (Excel) and involved analysis (Access), convey information, or present findings (PowerPoint). I am still the “goto” resource for optimal use of these helpful tools and project management. I currently desire to leverage my years of professional experience, from individual contributor to managing director, to share and collaborate with other professionals who seek to fortify their skills and sharpen their competitive advantage.
