This course is designed for those interested in learning more about the various types of boards potentially available for their participation. The information will be helpful to experienced board members as well as those who have not yet served on a board. Going through the sections of types of boards and the responsibilities required in each will help you decide your next step in your own board involvement.
Although it is a “stand-alone” course, it is also the beginning of a series designed to help you – the active board member – master the art of outstanding board development and involvement.
In this course we cover: Corporate Boards (including a section on SOX,) Boards of Religious Organizations, Professional Association Boards, Common Interest Associations (HOAs,) Advisory Boards, Art-Music-Community Boards, Boards of Charitable Organizations, Executive Committees and Advisory Boards.
Within each of these sections is information about the necessary committees, areas of authority and responsibility and your potential role.
