Whether you’ve taken the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator years ago and are looking for a refresher, or are simply interested in learning more about the gold standard in personality testing, this is your chance to explore the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI®), the most utilized personality instrument in the world. You will leave this session with a better understanding of yourself and a better understanding of how to relate and communicate with those around you. We explore the background and theory of the MBTI as well as an overview of the four dichotomies that make up your MBTI type (Extraversion-Introversion, Sensing-iNtuition, Thinking-Feeling, Judging-Perceiving).

Your instructor, Neil Ihde, founder of Life IQ and Type IQ, is a personality expert with an MA in Counseling, a BA in Psychology and a BA in Sociology.  In addition to 20 years of clinical and organizational psychology experience, Neil is not only a Certified Myers-Briggs Type Indicator Consultant, but has achieved the prestigious title of Master Practitioner.  A Master Practitioner MBTI Consultant has demonstrated their expertise through a volume of client contact hours and additional training and workshops. CPP®, the publisher of the MBTI, selected Neil as an exemplary ICON® (Independent Consultant) and featured him in a 2008 ad campaign.  Neil has been an author and contributor to the Myers-Briggs ICON website.

Neil Ihde was very entertaining and provided an interesting and engaging course on the basics of MBTI. He provided great illustrations to distinguish between each of the four aspects of MBTI. He did lose focus in on instance when indicating that Introverts may appear aloof to introverts. That didn't really make sense to me. I'm pretty sure he meant that Introverts appear to be aloof to extroverts. As a whole, as engaging as this course was, it was rather vague and seemed a little to simple. Still, as a whole, he effectively drove the point home that people are different and must be treated the way "they want to be treated." As an ENFP, he also helped me take into consideration how other types may view me given how they expect to be treated. This lesson in self-awareness if critical in ensuring a positive team chemistry and experience.

This really clarified the difference between the Myers-Briggs types and how to determine your own. Neil suggests that using the idea of "where you get your energy from" is a very good way to clarify which side of the different indicators you may fall on. Also, knowing that you should typically assess your behaviour while at home, in your casual moments, helps to understand where your preferences are. I'd taken this once and couldn't really believe the indicated scores. Now I know why it didn't ring true. The skills we have to put on at work aren't necessarily where our true "energy" comes from. I got a LOT from this course.

This is a very good overview of Myers briggs. The instructor breaks down each category and really explains them. I appreciated the way he explained how Myers briggs can be used in the work place. Remembering that not everyone is the same as you, and not everyone experiences the world the same way is important in building teams.

This course was very helpful in arriving at my preferences which explains why I enjoy the work I do. Neil does an excellent job listing the qualities for each dichotomy and provides relatable examples to help distinguish between the two (i.e., judging verses perceiving). Great and efficient overview on the Myers-Briggs!

Good overview of the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator and the four dichotomies. It has been many years since I had any exposure to Myers-Briggs, and this was an interesting refresher. I started thinking about my team and how we work together, and I think I took some good information from this course.

Good refresher of the MBTI. I had evaluated my type indicators quite a while ago and found that a couple of my preferences had changed over time (Judging - Perceiving dichotomy) Course covers decent amount of ground in approx 1hr, so a pretty efficient learning module.

I have heard of the Myers Briggs type indicator but this was the first time I actually heard any discussions of the various characteristics. It was interesting to see the opposites but also how some folks cross over into both sides.

I learned a lot about myself - or did I? This course led me to rethink preconceptions I had about the four types - and about who is an E/I N/S T/F J/P and how they experience life. Included things I had never thought of before.

Excellent comparisons & detailed traits for the 4 types. Would like to have examples of how the various 4 combos interact / related to each other. And how this interaction plays out in workplace teams to accomplish tasks.
