Researcher Robert Emmons states “We don’t have total control over our emotions but being grateful is a choice and can sustain us through the ups and downs of our lives.”

Grateful people are more stress resistant and have a higher sense of self-worth.  In this course, we’ll explore additional ways gratitude benefits us, identify challenges to gratitude, and develop a plan to cultivate gratitude.

Take a self-reflection ‘time out’ to optimize gratitude’s positive impacts in your life.

This course reminded me of a seminar on mindfulness that I once took. It can be said that practicing gratitude is an aspect of being mindful. There's always a tendency to focus on the bad or unpleasant things (negativity bias), but practicing gratitude highlights the positive, and it's a coping mechanism for stress, anxiety, or depression.

Gratitude and mindfulness go hand in hand. I'm glad mindfulness and meditation we both talked about
