In this course we will discuss how monitoring L&D activities provides opportunities for making improvements. We start with a brief overview of how using metrics to measure success and how to utilize information management techniques to provide and maintain information related to the L&D function.

This includes the analysis of costs and benefits to support the development of a business case for planning and evaluating L&D interventions.  This leads to a conversation about how key L&D structural processes such as training records, skills matrices, training plans and talent management processes can be used in understanding L&D requirements now and in the future.

Then we explore how L&D databases and system functionality can be used to enhance planning and priorities with a focus on the key skills and strategies required of the L&D practitioner. This course serves to examine a range of L&D tools and techniques available to develop a high quality L&D Management System.
