In this course, we develop the capability of the Human Resource Management (HRM) professionals to contribute constructively to the formation of organizational responses to the organization context.
We start with a brief overview of the internal and external environment exploring key environmental trends and how to use information to develop an understanding about the impact on the business environment more generally. This leads to a conversation about Managerial Theories and how these contribute to different strategic responses to the market and competitive environment.
Then, we explore the opportunities and constraints of Human Resources (HR) decision making in response to context. This course serves to increase credibility and influence of HR practitioners at senior levels in the organization by enabling them to effectively identify, examine, and analyze the major contexts within which their organization operates.
