Delegating is something we do all the time, from having children do their chores to outsourcing significant portions of your business.  This course is designed to help you improve your skills by understanding how different people think, learn and receive information in a number of settings – from one-on-one to meetings.

In addition, you will have the opportunity to learn about your own style of management, how to adapt it and utilize the style that is most useful to the situation. Issues of control, which block many managers from delegating effectively, will be discussed in the context of needing perfection instead of striving for excellence.

Learning Objectives
  • Discover new ways to consider how best to delegate-train different types of people, from cognitive styles to cultural differences.
  • Explore your own barriers to delegating effectively.
  • Recognize your own style of management as well as other styles, enabling you to adapt to the most effective style for the situation.
  • Identify many types of meetings and which type is most effective for different management needs.

This course provided a great overview of delegation skills as well as thoughtful considerations for managers to evaluate when adapting to different styles, I particularly enjoyed the DISC refresher as it's been some time since reviewing that methodology as well. The instructor was very effective in presenting relevant and useful content, and the supporting materials were also an asset!

This course was exceptionally well done. I especially enjoyed the use of short supporting stories and examples from the presenter's personal experiences. This was one of the most enjoyable CPE courses I have taken and I look forward to taking additional courses from this presenter! Thanks!

This course contained some useful tips about delegating, but I thought it contained managerial information in general. I wasn't sure what discussing different types of meetings or project mgmt had to do with delegating, but it was still useful general management information.

The content was generally good and worth hearing. But the presenter's stories were not always that helpful; they seemed more personal in nature and not always business-oriented. The slides have several typographical errors in spelling and format which is distracting.

This a good course; however, delegating was more-so discussed at the end for a very short period. The majority of the class looked at employee types (which I believe is important in determining what to delegate to them).

I felt the Instructor provided too many personal examples and did not cover the course material adequately. It seem to be more rambling content then providing specific information on delegation.
