This course is designed for anyone in California who is required to participate in harassment prevention training to satisfy AB1825 and AB2053 legal requirements.

Harassment prevention training has a reputation for being boring and focused on simply checking the box.

If you’re looking for something different, you’ve found it! This training goes beyond the technicalities of harassment prevention law and instead provides employees and managers real, tangible tools for creating a positive work environment where harassment and bullying can’t thrive.

This training will get you and your workforce compliant with the law, and even better, provide your workforce with some impactful insight – such as a realistic look at how negative behavior escalates, how to step in when witnessing bad behavior, and how to build a culture of respect and inclusivity.

Learning Objectives

This course is delivered in two parts. The first hour is designed for all employees at all levels of the organization. The second hour is designed for anyone with supervisory duties, such as supervisors, managers, business owners and leaders.

California law requires employees participate in one hour of training, and supervisors+ participate in two hours.

In the first hour of training for all levels of the organization (employees to top leaders), attendees will:

  • Discover the relationship between negative behaviors such as incivility, bullying and harassment, and their impact on targets, witnesses, and customers and the business.
  • Identify federal and state laws related to sexual harassment.
  • Recognize bullying, discrimination and harassment as a social phenomenon, which everyone has a responsibility to confront.
  • Explore a variety of methods for addressing unwanted advances, and stepping in when witnessing inappropriate behavior directed at others.
  • Discover how to report complaints and the next steps employers should follow.
  • Identify their role and responsibility in promoting a workforce free of harassment.

I found the course helpful with regards to definitions of certain terminology. The scenarios were beneficial to help with real life situations and how there are several different ways to look at behaviors and classify what is occurring in the workplace. The layout of the course was clear and concise and I felt Ms. Mattice did a great job presenting the information with the slides and voice over. Excellent presentation!

This is a lot of information and I learned a lot. I would of liked to know more about coworker bulling, and how to deal with such situation and besides keeping a journal and when no one is willing to step up because bully is friend with supervisor and no one is willing confirm the bulling. what is the best way to approach this situation? and wht are the actions you should expect to see?

Course broke down the definitions for harassment and gave mini quizzes to help make definitions clear. Also enjoyed that it gives a basic crash course on sexual orientation vs. gender identity vs. gender expression.

Good information given, but preferred more engaging instruction for my employees (I am an HR Manager). Looking at one PowerPoint slide for more than a minute or so creates boredom and feels like a class lecture.
