Ronald A. Kiima CPA is President of Kiima Incorporated, a boutique consulting firm specializing in SEC accounting and disclosure issues, SEC registration statements and periodic reports, SEC compliance reviews, comment letters and enforcement investigations, corporate governance and risk management, investor relations and analyst communications, due diligence and investigatory procedures, and litigation support and testimony. His firm’s clients include, among others, SEC registrants, IPO candidates, public accounting and law firms, and continuing professional education providers. Through his firm, Mr. Kiima also serves as a principal technical advisor to numerous Wall Street investment firms on matters of financial reporting matters and SEC compliance.
Prior to founding Kiima Incorporated, Mr. Kiima served in a number of increasingly responsible positions over eight years with the SEC’s Division of Corporation Finance in Washington D.C., his last five years there as an Assistant Chief Accountant overseeing and directing registrant compliance in numerous industry sectors. Mr. Kiima’s professional experience also includes serving as Senior Manager of Financial Compliance, Reporting and Special Projects for a NASDAQ-listed corporation, Shareholder/Managing Director of Accounting and Assurance Services for a regional public accounting firm, and as a senior audit staff member for a Big Four international public accounting firm.
Widely acclaimed for his insightful, forthright and often colorful opinions, Mr. Kiima is an internationally recognized speaker/instructor on matters of SEC compliance, accounting and reporting who has been featured at hundreds of conferences and seminars. Various leading media sources also routinely seek out his unique perspectives and opinions on corporate, investor and regulatory matters.
Mr. Kiima is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in the State of Maryland and is a member of the Association of SEC Alumni and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He received his B.S. in Business Administration/Accountancy (Summa Cum Laude) from, as well as completed graduate studies in Corporate Finance and Accounting at, the University of Baltimore.
