Larry Maisel is President of DecisionVu Group, Inc., a management consultancy specializing in Corporate Performance Management, Financial Management, and IT Value Management. He is a seasoned business executive who has successfully demonstrated abilities to provide leadership in Strategy and Financial Management, and Information Technology with numerous experiences in Financial Services, Insurance, Communications and Media, and Pharmaceuticals industries. He has developed business strategies, managed and improved business performance, implemented business systems, and designed solutions to increase operating performance and shareholder value.
He has assisted numerous clients and senior level executives in designing and implementing in-depth performance management systems including Balanced Scorecards for corporate and operating business units as well as designing and improving processes and systems for business reporting and analysis and planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
He has extensive industry experiences with global organizations including MetLife, TIAA-CREF, Citigroup, JPMChase, Federal Reserve System, AIG, GE, XL Capital, Boeing, Honeywell, Ford, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Pfizer, Merck, NBC, News Corp/Fox Entertainment, and many other Global 1000 industrial and financial service companies.
Larry has held senior executive positions at PeopleSoft, Balanced Scorecard Collaborative, and as Executive Partner in Charge of KPMG Consulting’s Strategy and Financial Management Consulting Practice. He has also held management positions including CEO and CFO.
Larry co-created with Drs. Kaplan and Norton, the Balanced Scorecard Approach, co-authored with Drs. Kaplan and Cooper Implementing Activity-Based Cost Management: Moving from Analysis to Action, authored Performance Measurement: The Balanced Scorecard Approach, was former Editor-in-Chief of Warren Gorham & Lamont’s Corporate Finance Network and Journal of Cost Management, and member of editorial advisory board of Journal of Strategic Performance Measures and a frequent contributing writer to Business Finance Magazine.
Recently, he authored “Predictive Business Analytics – Forward-looking Capabilities to Improve Business Performance” published by John Wiley & Sons and authored IFAC’s International Good Practices Guidance on “Predictive Business Analytics”.
He was an Adjunct Professor at Columbia University’s Graduate Business School where he taught courses on strategy and performance management and was a guest lecturer at Northwestern University’s J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management. He has also developed and delivered numerous training programs for private, public, and professional organizations.
He has spoken at numerous business and user conferences on a variety of topics and is one of the foremost leaders in the area of Corporate Performance Management and Predictive Business Analytics.
He was a member of Forrester Research’s Senior Advisory Board, Cognos’ Innovation Center Advisory Board and has served on numerous advisory boards for both private and public organizations, often as chairman or lead advisor.
